bro telugu movie box office collections: Sai Dharam Tej and Pawan Kalyan’s latest release Bro garnered a whopping amount of money at the box office. The story of the film was adapted from the famous Tamil release “Vinodaya Sitham”. “Bro” was released this Friday, 28th July and it opened with a whopping 30.05 crore net and an approx 35.2 crore gross amount in India on the first day. The movie also grossed 48 crore worldwide on Friday. With the first day numbers itself, we can say that Bro Telugu movie is expected to be one of the biggest smash hits at the box office in 2023.

“Bro” had garnered a lot of hype amongst the movie goers even before the release, Pawan Kalyan’s star power was definitely one of the factors behind the hype. According to the movie data tracker, “Bro” is expected to earn 20 cr nett on its second tracking day. 

The budget of the bro Telugu movie was 140 crore, the production cost was 120cr and the advertising cost was 20cr. The movie has already collected 55.05 crore nett in just 2 days in India and 75 crore worldwide. Looking at the audience hype and current box office score, we can surely say that the movie is smashing at the box office and it will manage to make a good amount of profit. Bro is ranked as the 4th biggest opening for a Telugu movie in 2023, just behind Adipurush (140cr), Veera simha reddy (50.1cr), waltair veeraya(49.1cr).

in 2021, director Samuthirakani released a Tamil movie called “Vinodaya Sitham” which was an instant hit. In 2023, the two major production houses Zee Studios and the people factory decided to release a Telugu version of the movie directed by Samuthirakani, that’s how the film “Bro” came to fruition. 

Genre wise, the Telugu audience highly prefers comedy and fantasy, and the director Samuthirakani did a commendable job in combining both elements in “Bro”. Pawan Kalyan steals the show with his magnetic performance throughout the film. The movie also stars Sai Dharam, Ketaki Sharma, Brahamanandam, Vennel Kishore, and Ali Reza in pivotal roles. The audience was craving a fantasy comedy movie with big names like Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam. The movie revolves around two characters the God of Time (Titan), played by Pawan Kalyan and Mark, played by Sai Dharam. Mark is a busy man who is obsessed with making money and doesn’t give time to anyone in his life, not even to family or partners. He’s also very controlling in nature. Mark dies in an accident and then he pleads to the God of time to grant him more time on earth to which the God agrees and grants him an added 90 days to live. In 90 days, Titan teaches Mark about the true essence of life.

Bro successfully delivered the comic elements and the core message of the film but somehow it failed to stand out on its own. The movie has got mixed reviews from critics and audiences but the uncle nephew chemistry of Sai Dharam and Pawan Kalyan has garnered a lot of positive reactions. According to the data, Bro, the Telugu movie managed to score a 76.77% occupancy rate on the first day of release. The night show had the highest occupancy rate of 84%, followed by the evening shows with 77% of occupancy rate. The afternoon and the morning shows had 71% and 73% occupancy rates respectively.
